Cooking class, Mediterranean diet experiences

Mrs. Tina lives in Bacoli and she will be happy to teach you and let you taste the typical dishes of the place that she herself prepares every day for herself and her family.

With Tina, you will prepare a typical lunch or dinner of a local family, inspired by the Mediterranean diet famous all over the world for its goodness and its healthy qualities.

The Mediterranean diet was coined in the mid-1970s by American scientists Ancel and Margaret Keys, to identify a traditional lifestyle that they had discovered and studied in the Mediterranean since the 1950s.

Their research on cardiovascular disease had revealed for the first time in the history of medicine that the longevity of the populations of Southern Italy, particularly Naples, Cilento and the rest of Campania, was explained by their eating habits, social customs and local productions.

The Mediterranean diet was inscribed in 2010 in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of UNESCO.

The menu will consist of 4 courses that you can choose, at the time of booking, from the following proposals:

1st option - Taste of the sea 

  • Starters: octopus salad, fried anchovies, bruschetta with cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella
  • First course: homemade pasta or spaghetti with mussels and lupins, spaghetti with anchovies
  • Sides: parmigiana di melanzane ( Eggplant Parmesan ), friarelli, salads and organic seasonal vegetables 
  • Desserts: pastiera and babà
  • Wine: falanghina from the Campi Flegrei

2nd Option - Taste of the land    

           Starters: charcuterie board with local salami and cheeses, bruschetta with cherry tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella

  • First course: homemade pasta or rigatoni with Neapolitan ragù and meatballs
  • Sides: parmigiana di melanzane ( Eggplant Parmesan ), friarelli, salads and organic seasonal vegetables
  • Desserts: pastiera and babà
  • Wine: Piedirosso from the Campi Flegrei

If you want, you can personalize your cooking experience by choosing between the two proposals the dishes you prefer, or by suggesting a dish you would like to taste, Tina will do everything to please you and satisfy your dietary needs. Then everyone at the table, like a real local family, to enjoy what has been prepared together.
