Roman Baths Archeological Park Baia and relax in a thermal complex

Baia was the favorite place of Roman emperors and noble families to spend their holidays.

The reasons were the beauty of the landscape, the mild climate and the beneficial properties of the thermal waters that flowed from the volcanic subsoil.

In order to enjoy the thermal waters, the Romans built the architectural complex of Baia Thermal Baths, of wich today some remains are still visible among them those of the Majestic Temple of Mercury, which due to its circular shape with a diameter of about 21 meters resembles the Pantheon.

The Temple of Mercury is covered by a hemispherical dome which is the oldest example of a large spherical dome.

A extraordinary event then inserted in the wonder of the archaeological remains, in a structure located a few meters away from the Temple of Mercury is grown an upside-down fig tree.

It is a wild fig born from the root of another fig that was above the vault and that has developed the root system above and the leaf system below.

After visiting the remains of the ancient Roman baths, if you want, you can take some time to relax in one of them.

Relax at the Stufe di Nerone ( Nero Thermal Baths )

Not far from the Roman Baths in Baia Archaeological Park you can find the Stufe di Nerone, Nero thermal baths complex.

The thermal waters are rich in precious mineral elements, necessary for the body to stay toned and elastic, but they are also great allies for the treatment of rheumatism and arthritis.

The large thermal park with natural springs, palms and olive trees, allows you to enjoy a pleasant day of relaxation, with swimming pools, saunas and hydrotherapy.

Relax at the Club Baia Terme

Located not far from the Casina Vanvitelliana, there is the Club Baia Terme, a thermal complex consisting of outdoor hot natural water pools, an indoor hydrotherapy pool and a lawn area pool with natural hot water jets.

All of our tours can be accompanied by a cooking lesson held by a local at her private house or by a visit to a local winery for a wine and food tasting
