Posso entrare, An Ode to Naples di Trudie Styler

Sting and his wife, director Trudie Styler, never miss an opportunity to declare their love for Italy and recently for the city of Naples.

Last spring Sting, keeping a promise made to the former parish priest of the Sanità district, Don Antonio Loffredo, came to Naples for a concert reserved for the inmates of the Secondigliano prison.

Sting played a guitar built for him by three inmates who had followed a luthier course in Secondigliano prison, using the wood of an old boat that had sunk while transporting migrants to the Italian coast.

His wife Trudie filmed "Posso entrare, An ode to Naples" a documentary on Naples which will be presented on October 23rd in the Freestyle section of the 18th Rome Film Festival.

In the documentary the director gives voice to the Neapolitans who, fighting personally against the difficulties and crime that afflict the city, carry out courageous initiatives to help young people fight social degradation and spread history and culture in Italy and around the world of Naples.
Trudie Styler said “As a British-born, American-based filmmaker, I am the definition of an outsider. I’ve had a home in Italy for two decades, but as any Neapolitan will tell you, Tuscany is not Naples. Sophia Loren said it best: I’m not Italian, I’m Neapolitan. Naples is a culture unto itself ".
