Due to the excellent way in which the submerged park of Baia is managed, it was recently registered in the UNESCO register of good practices for the conservation of underwater heritage.
The Submerged Park of Baia, also nicknamed the submerged Pompeii, preserves the remains of the ancient centers of Pozzuoli and Baia, archaeological remains of exceptional value that the phenomenon of bradyseism brought to the bottom of the sea.
And it is on the bottom of the sea, under a thin layer of sand, that the wonderful mosaics and statues that decorated the villas that the Roman nobles had built for their holidays in Baia are hidden.
Today it is possible to dive or snorkel in some areas of the Submerged Park of Baia, accompanied by instructors from authorized diving centres, to see some of these wonders. You don’t need the equipment, the authorized dive centers will provide you with everything you need to dive.
Come and take a tour of the Archaeological Park of the Terme di Baia and visit the underwhater Baia, incredible emotions await you
