In Naples everyone is a singer

In Naples, everyone is a singer.

This phrase was uttered by Anna Netrebko, one of the world’s most famous sopranos.

The renowned soprano was in Naples a few days ago to perform at the San Carlo Theater.

During a moment of relaxation, while sitting at a table in a café in the Spanish Quarter, she was approached by a "posteggiatore" (the term used in Naples for a street singer who performs classic Neapolitan songs) who accompanied himself with a guitar, singing the famous Neapolitan song "Comme facette mammeta".

Anna Netrebko recorded a short video of this encounter, which you can watch here: source: Fanpage, and then exclaimed the phrase "In Naples, everyone is a singer".

The famous soprano later posted another video showing her happily walking in Piazza del Plebiscito, in front of the Royal Palace of Naples: source: Napolitoday.
